Netanya has every major supermarket chain, four big shopping centres and, thanks to its French community, a lot of boulangeries, pâtisseries and French-run cafés around Kikar HaAtzmaut.
The kosher directory
The Netanya Religious Council publishes an online kosher directory: business, address, dairy or meat, and the supervision level (mdn.org.il (opens in a new tab)). The kosher places on this site come from it, and the listing shows the level exactly as the Council gives it:
- Rabbanut Netanya: regular supervision.
- Rabbanut Netanya Mehadrin: the stricter level.
- Rabbanut Netanya Badatz (Behidur HaKashrut): the Council's top level.
The restaurants and groceries and bakeries pages can be filtered by kosher level. Always check the certificate on the wall: kashrut can change.
Places popular with French speakers, such as Loricash, Gusto, Chipoudey Sarah and HaMaadania (a French fine-food grocery at the Piano Center), also appear in the French kosher directory Alloj (Alloj (opens in a new tab)).
Supermarkets
The municipality's emergency list of food chains (dated 28 January 2024) includes branches of Shufersal, Mega, Carrefour, Machsanei HaShuk, Yeinot Bitan, Victory, Tiv Taam, Rami Levy, Yochananof and Osher Ad (City of Netanya (opens in a new tab)). Some chains have changed hands since, so treat it as a starting point. Note that not every branch of every chain is kosher; check the Council directory or the certificate.
The directory has the main kosher-certified branches, including Shufersal Deal in Poleg and Amalia, Rami Levy and Victory on HaOrzim St, Carrefour at Ir Yamim Mall and Carrefour City on HaRav Kook St.

Bakeries and cafés
Around Kikar HaAtzmaut and Smilansky St you'll find Brioche, GB Patisserie, Maafiat HaNeviim, Le Moulin Doré on Sderot Binyamin and La Parisienne 26, among others; all are in the directory with their kashrut level.
