Trains
Netanya has two stations on Israel Railways' coastal line: Netanya (in the Kiryat Eliezer industrial area, near the Netanya interchange) and Netanya-Sapir (also shown as Netanya Kiryat Sapir, in the Sapir industrial zone in the south). Beit Yehoshua station is just south of the city (municipal transport operators page (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). The city says a third station is planned in Kiryat HaSharon.
On a weekday in October 2026 the timetable data showed about 120 trains a day at Netanya and 71 at Netanya-Sapir, with direct trains towards Binyamina, Rehovot and Ashkelon, and some to Beit Shemesh, Modi'in, Nahariya and Haifa (Open Bus GTFS data (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). Plan journeys with Israel Railways (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה).
Buses
- City lines link most neighbourhoods with the central bus station and the train stations. In the Ministry of Transport timetable (GTFS via Open Bus, weekday of 8 October 2026) the local lines are run by Extra (1א, 10, 10א, 12, 25, 82, 83 and 92) and Kavim (23 and 24) (Open Bus GTFS data (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). The municipality's operators page also lists city night lines 18 and 19 on Thursday nights, Saturday nights and school holidays (operators page (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- Regional lines (Kavim) serve Emek Hefer, Hof HaSharon, Lev HaSharon, Hadera, Petah Tikva and Ramat Gan, and also stop inside the city.
- Intercity lines to Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Ra'anana, Ramat HaSharon, Kfar Saba and Petah Tikva are run by Metropoline, which also runs night line 699 to Tel Aviv on Thursday nights, Saturday nights and school-holiday nights. National operators (Egged, Afikim, Superbus and others) run lines to Jerusalem, Tiberias, Safed and elsewhere; some only stop at the Netanya interchange.
Rav-Kav
Your first Rav-Kav card is free; a replacement costs 10 NIS. Netanya has two issuing points (Rav-Kav page (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)):
- the central bus station, entrance from Sderot Binyamin (next to McDonald's);
- Merkaz Alon, 26 Tom Lantos St, Kiryat HaSharon (north side, outside west front facing the railway).
You can load the card at hundreds of points around the city, with the Rav-Kav Online (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה) app on an NFC phone, or order a card online.
Planning tools
The city points residents to the national public-transport information centre at bus.gov.il (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה), the *8787 phone line, and apps such as Moovit and Google Maps (public transport page (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
Shabbat
Trains and almost all buses stop from Friday afternoon until Saturday evening. Check Friday's last departures in advance.
Coming next
Preparatory works for extending the light rail towards Netanya have been reported, but no opening date has been published; treat it as planned.
